You just completed your face-to-face interview for the job of your dreams and are feeling very good about the receipt of the proposal. All you have to do now is sit back and wait for this phone call. Not so fast! There are still a few more steps to be taken.
The first step, you should do after you get home from the interview is to send a thank you letter to any person to interview with. This is an official business letter to them saying you appreciate the time they took to speak with you.
Address of the letter of the people you interview with a name and send a separate letter for each person. This can have a positive impact if you have an interview with many people, especially if it is a joint decision.
In the first paragraph, thanks for the opportunity to interview with the company (by name) for the position (in title). You can tell them how impressed you were with their operation and management of the team.
In the second paragraph specifies the first two or three qualifications, you will bring to their organization and situation. This is not the detailed activities of your summary or as much information, while in your letter. It must contain only a few sentences, enough to refresh his memory.
In the third and last paragraph must Thank them for their time again and tell them, you are heading. This should be a very positive opinion and are not written in passive voice. Close the letter with the actions of your contact information.
Be sure to sign the letter manually before you send it. You can also attach a copy of your summary. This will help jog their memory, if they have had many candidates interviewing position.
This should be the extent of your tracking for the project, unless they have asked for more. Don't pester them as this will hurt your chances.
If you receive a rejection letter does not respond or ask for clarification. It is not personal, so that you do not have personal. View it as an attempt for the training and go to the next opportunity.
While waiting for the phone call that job offer, may not refuse to spend your time in the survey of salaries and salary negotiations. There are a lot of great tips on the Internet on these matters.
The first thing to understand about the salary is, "what are your salary requirements." this may sound simple, but is not a must understand their current requirements in the budget and all cost of living differences in this location and new location if you need to move. I hired and lost some very good employees because they did not take into account the differences in the cost of living in the new location of the project verses old.
Should also explore what ranges of wages for the type of projects that qualify for this particular location. This will give you an idea what to expect in the offer and what you may be able to agree on.
Point to remember for salary and negotiation, not only for money. There are many factors that make up the total compensation package. You need to understand all of them, as well as their impact on your decision. Here are a few things to consider.
Health insurance-medical, dental, vision, etc. Vacation Time. Retirement/Advancement Opportunities because of the Programs.. Relocation Assistance. Educational Assistance an Insurance Life. Car assistance
Must include each of these points in your examination of acceptable salary and total compensation package. You can focus more on one area and not as much in another area, depending on your personal needs and to negotiate on this point.
After you receive the quote you have three options, you can choose from. You can accept the offer. You can reject the offer. Or, you can make a counter offer for the project. Must be prepared and select the option that meets the objectives of the long term.
Once you have accepted the position and began to work you have one last step to complete the process of job search. You must update to continue.
